"My wife and I hired Evergreen McKinney, owned by Kevin Graham, as our contractor for a significant kitchen remodeling project at our home in McKinney. We were thrilled that Kevin also enlisted the design services of Luann Van Winckel (owner of Patina Green on the McKinney Square). Both of them absolutely knocked our project out of the park. Kevin was always sensitive to our budget and Luann, for several weeks, kept an eye out in the marketplace for unique beautiful pieces and ideas to make our kitchen special. During the project, we saw Kevin almost every day because he insisted on carefully inspecting the work that was done every step of the way. Kevin and Luann transformed our tired boring kitchen into a beautiful and functional showplace where we now enjoy spending lots of time. Kevin and Luann also took our tiny, non-functional laundry room and expanded it into a large walk-in laundry and craft room where our kids now spend lots of time making fun creations. Kevin was sensitive to our budget and time constraints and made every effort to keep us happy. And happy we are. We can’t wait to work with them on our next home remodeling project”.
"Thank you Kevin Graham of Evergreen McKinney! What a wonderful donation!!!
The tiny house was designed by Studio 2547 and built by Evergreen McKinney (Kevin Graham) in just three weeks! It pleased so many children of all ages over the holidays that it has gained a permanent place on McKinney's Square each year from now on.
Built completely of natural materials...even the bricks on the outside (over 4,000 of them) were hand cut and placed to give the effect of an English Tudor shop.
It has been submitted to the AIA for an award for design and construction.
We had many bad experiences with contractors until finding Evergreen McKinney. What a great find! He's talented in design AND budgeting AND craftsmanship and is a local He gave us a budget to stick with from the beginning (even though we added more to it). He communicated with us everyday and he was here each day. The experience he has with the Historic District is amazing. We will DEFINITELY be using him again! K. Harrison
This January I asked Kevin of Evergreen McKinney to remodel the bathroom of my 1940s cottage. He was definitely able to manage all the aspects of the project with little stress for me: -
Demo and repairing damage from prior leaks
- Advanced water-proofing
- Design expertise on paint, tile, and fixture materials
- Managing the budget
- Managing the labor crew (who were nice to be around and have in my home)
- Thinking of the project in 360 degrees (e.g., how changing the wall affected other rooms in the house, resale appeal)
The bathroom looks great, and it is a relief to have a contractor that is reliable and understands design in the historic district. L. Bolten
As all owners of historic houses know, there is always something that needs to be done. We have used several different people over the years with varying degrees of satisfaction. Thanks to recommendations from neighbors on this site we recently hired Evergreen McKinney to install a range hood in our 1915 bungalow. Since we did not have one this involved venting up through the attic and out the roof. His crew came as promised, did the work in a timely manner, cleaned up and actually billed us a bit less than estimated. J. Mitchell
